ARRESTED IN ADDISON
The Town of Addison no longer operates its own municipal jail. Effective October 1, 2025, anyone arrested by the Addison Police Department is transported to the Richardson Jail at 140 N Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081 for booking and holding. From there, Dallas County charges transfer to Lew Sterrett Justice Center for magistration and bond posting. Act Quick Bail Bonds posts bonds at Lew Sterrett around the clock — call (214) 744-1414 the moment you learn of an arrest.
About Arrested in Addison
The Town of Addison closed its in-house jail and contracts jail services to the City of Richardson under an Interlocal Agreement that took effect October 1, 2025. The agreement was approved by the Addison City Council at its August 26, 2025 meeting and runs an initial five-year term with an automatic five-year renewal. Before the Richardson agreement, Addison contracted with the City of Grapevine starting in 2022, but the roughly 22-mile distance created operational delays — Richardson was chosen as the replacement primarily because of proximity and its experience holding inmates for other cities. Addison itself remains a small but dense Dallas County enclave anchored by the Belt Line Road restaurant and nightlife corridor, which generates a disproportionate share of arrest activity relative to the resident population. Addison Police continue to make arrests within Addison town limits — the only change is the booking destination.
How to Post Bond at Arrested in Addison
Arrest by Addison Police
Addison Police make the arrest within Addison town limits and prepare the defendant for transport to the contracted booking facility.
Transport to Richardson Jail
The defendant is transported to the Richardson Jail at 140 N Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081, where Richardson personnel handle intake on Addison’s behalf.
Time-Sensitive Bond Window
After Richardson processes intake, there is a window before the defendant is transferred to Lew Sterrett. Act Quick Bail Bonds can frequently post bond at the Richardson Jail during this window — calling us the moment you learn of an arrest is what makes this possible.
Magistration & Bond at Lew Sterrett
A Dallas County magistrate reviews the charges and sets a bond amount. Once set, an Act Quick agent posts bond at the 24-hour bond window.
Initial Check-In — Required
Within 24 to 72 hours of release, the defendant must report to our office for a mandatory initial check-in. We review all court dates, bond conditions, and reporting requirements. Failure to complete this check-in results in bond forfeiture and a new warrant for the defendant’s arrest.
